Dorothy Schafer

Dr. Dorothy Schafer, Professor and Molly McGovern Chair in Biomedical Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School, is a leader in microglial biology who has made seminal discoveries related to how microglia prune synapses in the developing brain and is now pursuing roles for microglia and other immune cells in neural circuit destruction in neurodegenerative diseases.
