Roberto Furlan
Roberto Furlan, born in 1964, graduated in Medicine from the University of Milan. After graduation, he conducted research at the University of Chicago and then at the Clinical Laboratories of the São Rafael Hospital in Salvador-Bahia, Brazil. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He earned his PhD from the Open University of London working in the Neuroimmunology Unit of the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan and then completed his residency in Neurology. He is a Professor at the Vita e Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, former President of the Italian Association of Neuroimmunology, and past-President of the International Society of Neuroimmunology. He currently serves as Head of the Clinical Neuroimmunology Unit at San Raffaele in Milan.
