Fu-Dong Shi is a neurologist specialized in the management of patients with multiple sclerosis and other neuroinflammatory diseases. He completed his clinical and research training in Peking Union Hospital, China, Karolinska Institute, Sweden, The Scripps Research Institute, California, USA, and Barrow Neurological Institute, Arizona, USA. He currently serves as Chief of Neuroimmunology Section, Chinese Neurological Association; Board Member European Charcot Foundation; and past Scientific Chair (2018-2020) for PACTRIMS; He was elected a member of the Academia Europaea (MAE) in 2024. He has led numerous clinical trials in multiple sclerosis, NMOSD, myasthenia and stroke. His fundamental research focuses on neuro-inflammation and -degeneration. He has published 310 articles, including those in Science, Cell, Lancet and BMJ, acquired 28 patents, one IND. He serves on Editorial Board of Science Translational Medicine and Cell Death & Differentiation.
