Noriko Isobe
Dr. Noriko Isobe MD, PhD is Professor and Chairperson of Department of Neurology, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan. She is also Vice President of Kyushu University. She graduated from the Kyushu University School of Medicine in 2003, earned a Ph.D. in Medicine from the Department of Neurology at Kyushu University in 2010, continued research as a postdoctoral fellow at Department of Neurology, University of California San Francisco during October 2010 and March 2017. Her research focuses primarily on central nervous system immunological diseases including multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders, with an emphasis on epidemiology and the genetic and environmental factors associated with disease susceptibility and progression. She also devotes significant attention to collaborative care for intractable diseases and role of design in healthcare.
Dr. Isobe has worked with Pan-Asian Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (PACTRIMS) as Chair of the Scientific Program Committee for annual meetings. She is also Director of The Japanese Society of Neuroimmunology (JSNI) and Japanese Society of Neurology (JSN) and Representative of Asian and Oceanian Association of Neurology (AOAN) for European Association of Neurology (EAN).
