Gabriela Constantin, MD, PhDis a Professor of General Pathology and Immunology and Head of the Laboratory of Neuroimmunology and Neuroinflammation at the University of Verona, Italy. Dr. Constantin received her medical degree and completed her residencyin neurology at the University of Milan, Italy. She obtained a PhD in molecular and cellular pathology and is currently the Director of the PhD program in Inflammation, Immunity and Cancer at the University of Verona. She is an internationally recognized leader in neuroimmunology and her studies are focused on the role of leukocyte trafficking in brain autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.  She contributed to the identification of key inflammation mechanisms in multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Constantin’s group is also interested in systems biology approaches for the study of biological networks controlling T cell activation, inflammation and autoimmunity. Her projects are funded by national and international agencies including the European Research Council (ERC) (she obtained 3 ERC grants), National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) NY, USA, Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) USA and Fondazione Italiana Sclerosi Multipla (FISM), Genoa, Italy.
