Susumu Kusunoki was graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1978. He is a neurologist and Emeritus Professor, Department of Neurology, Kindai University Faculty of Medicine. He has been involved in the research on neuroimmunology, particularly on antiglycolipid antibodies in autoimmune neuropathies, such as anti-GQ1b antibodies in Miller Fisher syndrome and related disorders. He used to be the president of Japanese Society for Neuroimmunology, and the chairman of the research committee of neuroimmunological diseases in Japan. He is now the Program Supervisor of the research on rare and intractable diseases of Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
