Assistant Professor Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Myelin Repair and Matrix Biology of Aging Department of Biology, University of Toronto Mississauga Department of Immunology, University of Toronto Toronto, ON | Canada
Dr. Samira Ghorbani earned her Ph.D. in immunology from Tehran University of Medical Science. She pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary, where she focused on overcoming inhibitors in MS lesions to promote tissue repair and remyelination. Now an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Dr. Ghorbani aims to understand why myelin repair declines with age, contributing to MS progression. Specifically, her lab investigates the roles of cellular senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) alterations in myelin repair during aging.
