Dr. Michael Wheeler is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Gene Lay Institute and Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases. His research background is in neuroimmunology and neurobiology, focused on the role of neuroimmune interactions that control neurodegeneration and behavior as well as developing new tools to study these interactions. The Wheeler lab applies a Systems Neuroimmunology framework to behavior, identifying the molecules, cells, and circuits that underlie changes brain-body communication in neuropsychiatric disorders, addiction, and inflammatory diseases.
