Dr. Maximilian Frosch is a physician-scientist and resident at the Institute of Neuropathology, University Medical Center Freiburg. He studied medicine in Freiburg and obtained his medical doctorate in 2020 in the laboratory of Prof. Marco Prinz for work on the epigenetic regulation of microglia by histone deacetylases and the microbiome. His research focuses on glial cell biology, microglia–neuron communication, and neuroimmunological mechanisms in health and disease, with particular emphasis on lysosomal storage disorders and neurodegeneration. Dr. Frosch has co-authored numerous articles in leading journals, including Nature, Immunity, and Nature Neuroscience.
