Masayuki Nishide graduated from Osaka University School of Medicine in 2007 and completed his initial clinical training at NTT West Japan Osaka Hospital in 2010, specializing in allergy and rheumatic diseases. After earning his PhD in 2017 from Osaka University, he continued his academic career as an Assistant Professor in Department of Respiratory Medicine and Clinical Immunology at Osaka University. From 2020 to 2021, he conducted research as a fellow at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In 2024, he was appointed as an Associate Professor (Lecturer) at Osaka University. Dr. Nishide is an active member of The Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, the Japan College of Rheumatology, the Japanese Society of Allergology, and the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR). His expertise lies in investigating the mechanisms of granulocyte activation and their roles in immune diseases, with a recent focus on single-cell analyses to identify pathogenic cell subsets in ANCA-associated vasculitis (Nat Commun. 2023 and a manuscript in revision). His translational research integrates clinical insights and advanced omics, emphasizing patient-centered discoveries (Nat Rev Immunol. 2024).
