Fabienne Brilot is Professor of Neuroimmunology and Principal Research Fellow at the University of Sydney. She heads the Brain Autoimmunity Laboratory based at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney. Her researchfocuses on immune-mediated brain disorders such demyelinating disorders, such as Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody-associated Disease (MOGAD) and autoimmune neurological diseases. Her group aims to discover biomarkers and explores the autoimmune response in patients to improve their diagnosis and treatment.
She is a member of ISNI International Advisory Board, and chairs the WE Are Neuroimmunology mid-career Award committee. She was the scientific chair of the 14th ISNI Congress (Australia, Brisbane, 2018), and the co-convenor of the 3rd Asia-Pacific School of Neuroimmunology (Sydney, 2023). She is the President of Neuroimmunology Australia. She reviews for many journals and is an editorial board member for several journals in the field of neuroimmunology.
