Dr. Adil Harroud is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University (Montréal, Canada), an Associate Member in the Department of Human Genetics, and a Neurologist at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital. He is also an affiliate researcher at the Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden). Dr. Harroud specializes in the care of people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and related conditions. His research is centered on the application of complex genetics approaches to understand the mechanisms underlying MS susceptibility and progression. During his MS clinician-scientist fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, under the mentorship of Prof. Sergio Baranzini, he led the identification of the first genetic modifier of MS severity. At McGill, Dr. Harroud co-leads the Neuroimmunological Disease Group, where his work aims to identify novel targets for the prevention and treatment of MS.
