Mitsuru Watanabe, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Kyushu University Hospital in Fukuoka, Japan. Dr. Watanabe obtained his medical degree from Kyushu University in 2006, began his academic career at the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University in 2012, and received his PhD in 2017 from Kyushu University. He was honored with the Investigator Award at the 11th Congress of the Pan-Asian Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (PACTRIMS) in 2018. His clinical and research interests include myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. He is a member of the Japanese Society of Neurology and serves as a councilor for the Japanese Society for Neuroimmunology and the Japanese Society for Neuroinfectious Diseases.
