Main tasks

As a clinician-scientist at one of Europe’s leading university hospitals, you will have the opportunity to independently pursue a research project in the field of neuroimmunology and thus lay the foundation for a successful career in academic medicine.

The research groups within the DFG Research Unit FOR 5705 “NeuroFlame – Defence and demise of inflamed neurons” investigate the neurobiological consequences of neuroinflammatory diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease (see: Woo et al, Nat Rev Neurosci. 2024 Jul;25(7):493-513. doi: 10.1038/s41583-024-00823-z) and in cooperation with the Department for Neurology pursue clinical care and clinical research. The working language in the laboratories is English.

 

Your tasks:

  • Working on a research project in the field of neuroimmunology. The focus here is on the development of neuroprotective strategies to limit neuronal damage during neuroinflammation.
  • Development of independent research strategies and control of realization

 

This position is initially limited to three years as part of a third-party funded project and can also be filled by part-time staff. The position is available immediately.
